Season 2, Breakdown "The Gan Scuffle"
Description:
This scuffle occurs between Avon and a member of the crew, Gan. Gan's brain limiter is breaking down, causing him to act violently. He was supposed to be restrained in the medical bay, but he was accidentally released and comes rampaging to the computer room, intent on doing some damage. Avon, who is working in the room, is unaware that his 'mad' crewmate is on the loose.
In the scuffle which follows, Avon tries to prevent Gan from causing damage to the ship. Unfortunately, Gan is a behemoth and Avon is no match for his strength.
The Gan Scuffle, Part 1
When Gan comes into the computer room (01), Avon is working. He hears a noise and investigates (02-03); only to discover that Gan has gotten loose. A surprised Avon (04) is grabbed by Gan and is bodily tossed across the room (05-11). Avon lands on the ground, at the other end of the room (12). With Avon seemingly out of the way, Gan proceeds to find something to break (13).

The Gan Scuffle - Overall Analysis
What does it tells us of Avon the man?
Avon, even though he is surprised and knocked down by an opponent with superior strength, as long as he is still able, he has the courage to try to stop Gan. Avon doesn't give up.
Avon is not daunted even though he is facing a man he has no hope of defeating on his own. This may be courage, or it may be desperation to stop Gan from destroying the computer controls. Or it may be a combination of both.
Assessment of Fighting Ability
Gan clearly has the superior strength here. This gives Avon a big handicap. Both times, Avon is easily thrown across the room.
Rating the Fight: 5/10
Although Avon is defeated easily here, it was against an opponent with superior strength. Avon does get points for courage in tackling Gan, even though he knews he has no chance of beating him; and for perserverence. As long as he's not knocked out, Avon will not give up.
The Gan Scuffle, Part 2
While Gan proceeds to yank a handful of wires (01-02) out, Avon gets up (03-05) and yells for him to stop. When Gan doesn't, Avon tries to stop him by grabbing him around the neck from behind (07-09). Gan responds by grabbing Avon's arm (10), pulling him forward to put him off-balance (11) and then shoves him backwards (12). Avon is knocked backwards with such strength that he somehow falls around the central column and appears stunned on the ground. Gan succeeds in yanking some wires out (14) but fortunately, his limiter acts up again and he's knocked out.
